SUSTAINABILITY – WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

We are working every day to develop into a climate-friendly company – this is our aspiration. Why climate-friendly and not climate-neutral? We want to be authentic and are realistic about the fact that there can be no real climate neutrality in today’s way of life and economy – not even by buying certificates.

We have therefore opted for decided to invest in new technologies and energies that will continuously improve our company’s carbon footprint. There are many meaningful projects behind the certificates, but we believe it is more valuable to invest in climate protection at our site and to align our products as well as our building, energy and vehicle management accordingly.

KUNDO xT has been certified according to the ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system since 03.07.2024.

CO2 FOOTPRINT

In 2022, we not only revised our CO2 Control gas warning device, which has been an example of circular economy since its market launch due to the 4-year replacement of the sensor, but also recorded our CO2 footprint. Due to the coronavirus, we had selected 2019 as the reference year and have reduced some of this since then. In 2021, we switched to green electricity, completely converted our 9,000 m² building to LED lighting and converted our vehicle fleet to electromobility, promoting public transport and rail for business and work trips.

The option to charge electric vehicles at the building’s wallboxes has been available since 2021 and will be expanded shortly. A PV system on our large flat roof has been supplying electricity from the sunny mountain town since 2013. At every event and in daily operations, we pay attention to energy savings and waste avoidance. KUNDO stays tuned.

HEALTH AND EMPLOYEE SATISFACTION

In our opinion, the basis for health is the satisfaction of our employees with their workplace design, their freedom to make decisions, the family-friendly flexible working hours with, depending on the job, the option of a mobile office and the respectful corporate culture. Regular discussions and preventive measures ensure a feel-good atmosphere.

But we also have active offers: Job bike, table tennis, running events, plus a weekly fruit day – coffee and mineral water flat rate, a cake day, our canteen with hot meals and our Fairtrade confectionery range round off the gourmet side of life.

SOCIAL AND REGIONAL

We remain true to our commitment to effectiveness and the St. Georgen location – we donate to local charitable associations such as the “WIRKstatt“, support the town festival and local art associations and have taken over the sponsorship of 100 square meters of the popular monastery pond, which is currently being extensively desilted so that it can breathe again.

SOCIAL – OUR MOST IMPORTANT EMPLOYEES

KUNDO always offers our people a helping hand wherever possible. The severely disabled persons’ levy, which companies without inclusion have to pay, is zero every year, as we live integration.

Investing in training and further education is part of progress, and we want to go further with you.

DELIVERY CHAINS

We have been working for many years with suppliers that we tend to call our partners, including many regional companies.

Our products contain electronic components – we also have a network in Asia. Through regular on-site visits and two of our own employees in Hong Kong, we ensure that human rights are respected and occupational health and safety is observed. We want quality for our products, but not at any price.

Deliveries are planned in such a way that we avoid air freight wherever possible, but we still offer our customers a delivery reliability of 99%. In logistics, we work together with DHL.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Environmental protection is an important part of our company policy. We are aware that our activities have an impact on the environment. It is therefore our duty to reduce the impact on the environment to the minimum possible within the scope of economic and technical possibilities and by means of well thought-out processes.

Our responsibility in dealing with the environment and resources requires the identification and evaluation of our significant environmental aspects as well as the fulfillment of defined environmental goals and programs and their verification on the basis of measurable characteristics.

Based on our shared responsibility towards people and the environment, we have set ourselves the goal of reconciling profitable production and environmental protection by improving environmental performance and avoiding or reducing environmental pollution wherever this is technically and organizationally possible and economically viable. It is a matter of course for us to comply with legal and official regulations and other environmental interests as well as the environmental protection requirements we have set ourselves and to improve where we see potential.
